Mahaska County Little League Champions

So much excitement at Lacey Complex on Monday, June 20th, the Mahaska County Little League hosted their County Division Championships! Each community was represented with a team in at least one of the championship games, but it was a sweep by the Bussey Little League winning all divisions! If you weren’t at the complex on Monday you missed great ball games and our county has much to look forward to in the future with these young athletes! Great job boys and girls!
Soccer Ends Season with a Kick

There were lots of kicks at The Lacey Recreation Complex as the Mahaska County Soccer Club wrapped up last seasonal games on June 3rd and final tournament on June 4th and 5th. The tournament brought 27 teams from 7 surrounding towns to compete at the Lacey Recreation Complex over two days. The spring season has officially ended for 2022 but if your “goal” is soccer games, just around the corner we will gear up for the fall season!
Swing Into Spring

The first softball tournament of the year hosted the “Swing into Spring” girls’ softball on 4-30 and 5-1 at the Lacey Recreation Complex in Oskaloosa. Tina Schaffner, tournament director, brought 33 teams to compete over the weekend. Teams were from all over Iowa with the farthest team coming from Minnesota. Cool winds and lower temperatures did not stop the excitement of the games as cheers could be heard throughout the day and throughout the complex! 6 groups: 14UB, 14UC, 12UB, 12UC, 10UC, and 8UB completed with bracket play eliminations ending in the following champions: 14UB Osky Heat; 14UC SE Iowa Aftershock; 12UB SEP Rams; 12UC Eddyville Batgirls; 10UC Ottumwa Edge just beating the Oskaloosa Power with a score of 2 to 0, and 8UB Iowa Elite Force. It was a welcome weekend of softball at the complex! If the temperature can’t do it, the games still bring spring into town!
MCSC Starts Spring Soccer Season

Mahaska County Soccer Club (MCSC) held its first tournament of the season Saturday 4-2-2022 at the Lacey Recreation Complex in Oskaloosa. Thirty teams from around the region completed in 25 games throughout the day to many cheers and laughter of the fans! MCSC will host another tournament this June, come join for a day of youth recreation and excitement!
High School Summer Soccer Plays at Lacey Complex

The Oskaloosa High School aged boys have formed, just for fun, a summer soccer league and they are working hard at the Lacey Recreation Complex! Practices are happening through the week! They are going to play in the Iowa Games and we wish them Good Luck!
Fall Ball Returns to the Lacey Complex

Fall Ball will kick their season off at the Lacey Complex, celebrating their 11th Annual Fall Ball Season! This year Cal Evans and his crew expanded their rosters by adding a girls softball division, for the second year. Teams will compete over the course of four weekends.
